Dr Jesse Kumar is a Consultant Endocrinologist working at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. After completion of his higher specialist training in the South Thames region, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, he started as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2006. He was the Clinical Director for Acute and Emergency Medicine at Maidstone Hospital from 2008 to 2011 and is actively involved in diabetes research (Principle and sub-Investigator in many multi-centre research trials).
Dr Kumar is currently the Lead for Diabetes Commissioning for Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust and also the Honorary Senior Lecturer for King's College London. Dr Kumar runs the Insulin Pump Clinic at Maidstone Hospital and is the only endocrinologist in Kent who is ARSAC certified for radio-iodine treatment.
As the commissioning lead, he is working with the West Kent Commissioning Group (CCG) to deliver high quality diabetes services across Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.
Dr Kumar believes in offering modern and effective treatments in diabetes and endocrinology with an enhanced patient-centred experience through modern technology.
