Dr Gant is a Consultant in Sport and Emergency Medicine at Homerton University Hospital. He is also a club doctor with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, working with all squad levels including the first team. Dr Gant covers the club's matches both in the UK and in Europe.
In 2012, Dr Gant was the Clinical Lead for Polyclinics at the London Olympics and Paralympics; part of the team that planned, established and delivered the athlete medical care for the Games. He is currently planning and will be in charge of the medical care at the 2017 World Athletics Championships to be held in London.
He specialises in the assessment and management of acute and longer term injuries relating to sport and activity. This includes the planning of rehabilitation programmes with an emphasis on returning to sporting activity at the earliest opportunity and in optimal fitness condition. He also offers the assessment of individuals in order to help maximise performance and minimise injury.
Dr Gant believes the key to good sport medicine is a holistic approach to biomechanics and movement with specific reference to the sport or activity involved. He seeks to apply this approach to all patients whatever the issue they present with.
