Professor Shetty is a leading knee and limb reconstruction surgeon in the United Kingdom. Professor Shetty underwent his postgraduate training at Guys', King's and St Thomas' School of Medicine, London. Subsequently he did his Orthopaedic fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the Orthopaedic Research Institute (ORI) San Francisco, USA.
He is a Professor and Director of Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Surgery Faculty of Health at Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent.
His main interest is stem cell research, cartilage transplant, application of computer navigation and robotics in minimally invasive surgery. He was the recipient of the prestigious Laing and Buisson surgical innovation award in 2011.
He has published extensively and authored many books.
