Kent Institute of Medicine & Surgery widens reach through NHS contracts for patients in South East

A number of NHS Trusts in Kent have awarded contracts to the Kent Institute of Medicine & Surgery (KIMS Hospital) to treat patients.

Based in Maidstone, KIMS Hospital is a brand new privately funded complex hospital, with a strong focus on Cardiology & Cardiothoracic surgery and also Neurosciences & Neurosurgery.

Since KIMS Hospital first opened in May 2014, it has attracted over 220 leading consultants who are now providing services in 28 different healthcare specialisms.

During October and November 2014, NHS patients were treated at KIMS Hospital and more patients are scheduled to receive treatment in 2015.  Procedures have been undertaken in ophthalmology, trauma & orthopaedics, neurosurgery, gastrointestinal, gynecology and general surgery.  This work has reduced NHS waiting lists and delivered the highest standards of care.

Jayne Cassidy, Chief Executive of KIMS Hospital, is currently working closely with NHS commissioners to develop future plans and states that, “Delivering excellence for patients through the NHS framework remains one of our key priorities for the future”.
