KIMS Hospital receives prestigious national health and wellbeing award

KIMS Hospital, Maidstone is the first hospital in Kent to receive a top accolade; “Excellence Award” for the importance it places on the health and wellbeing of their staff. This top accolade, is part of a national initiative funded by Public Health England and driven locally by Maidstone Borough Council and Kent County Council, to improve the health and wellbeing of employees.

In only ten months, KIMS Hospital has achieved Excellence across all nine assessed areas, having received the first level award, Commitment, in January this year. As the leading independent hospital in Kent, employing over 250 people, KIMS Hospital is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of their people and create a great place to work. By nurturing its people and environment, teams feel better engaged and more productive in their day to day roles.

We have worked hard to build on the foundation of the Commitment Award we received earlier this year to ensure our teams’ health and wellbeing is improved. In conjunction with our people, we have successfully implemented some new initiatives ranging from increasing physical activity at work, through to healthy eating and mental health & wellbeing. As the leading independent hospital in Kent, we also believe we have a role to play in helping other local organisations improve the health and wellbeing of their people”

KIMS Hospital was independently assessed after meeting standards in all nine areas including; leadership, absence management, health & safety, mental health and wellbeing, health eating, physical activity, smoking and tobacco related ill health, alcohol and substance misuse, environment.
