KIMS Hospital Maidstone has scored highly in its first annual patient satisfaction survey, carried out independently over a year to July 2015.

The survey compares KIMS with 91 other similar acute independent hospitals owned by 11 healthcare providers across the UK including all Nuffield, Spire, Aspen, HCA and all London private hospitals.

KIMS was ranked number one overall in both pain management and the explanations made to patients on arrival and second overall in attention from nurses. 92% of patients were extremely likely to recommend KIMS to family and friends.

Feedback from patients, both those paying for treatment privately and those referred by the NHS for treatment includes comments such as:

“The nurses were wonderful, friendly and caring. Nothing was too much trouble of them, always there very promptly when I rang the buzzer. The Physiotherapist was marvellous too, a wonderful help.”

“Because the care and treatment was amazing, I felt so safe and comfortable and was put at ease from start to finish. All staff are fantastic.”

“The whole experience was excellent, from the moment I entered this hospital. I have had previous major operations in other hospitals but have never had the care and attention I received from your staff at this hospital. Thank you so much”.

Simon James, Chief Executive at KIMS Hospital said: “This is a very good outcome covering our first year since opening and we are especially delighted to have received some overall first and second rankings. We are ranked in the top third of all hospitals with acute care facilities across the whole of the UK for all categories in the survey. We will of course be studying the results closely, to see what further improvements can be made to our services for patients over the coming months.”
