On admission, your dedicated nurse will confirm your estimated day/time of departure. We strongly advise that you arrange for someone to pick you up from the hospital after your procedure and stay with you for the next 24 hours. Please let us know in advance if this isn’t possible for any reason.
We have an in-house pharmacy. When you leave us you may be prescribed painkillers, (e.g. paracetamol and ibuprofen) and/or other medication. Please ensure you carefully follow the directions on the label.
If, when you get home, you are unsure about what you should do or wish to check something, please contact us directly on 01622 237727 asking for the day case or inpatient ward that you were discharged from.
Your specialist will advise you when you are likely to be able to drive again. You should arrange to be picked up from the hospital on discharge – as a general rule, you should not drive for at least 24 hours after a general anaesthetic and you may not be insured if you do.
