Patients at KIMS Hospital are offered a coordinated approach to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine and bowel, together with the pancreas and liver.

Working closely with the general surgeons, the gastroenterology team at KIMS Hospital offers treatment for a wide variety of conditions including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel disease. Minimally invasive surgery is offered for gallbladder and bile duct stones, and hernia repair.

The team is at the forefront of medical breakthroughs, including the earlier diagnosis of diseases including cancer using endoscopic techniques (endoscopy involves inserting a flexible tube with a camera into the digestive tract), as well as the use of colonoscopy (a flexible tube with a camera inserted into the bowel) to screen for bowel cancer.
